SELSA Success for our Seniors
A drawn match at Swinton Park was enough to secure victory in the South East Lancashire Seniors Association league League with one game to play.
The presentation will take place at the SELSA Finals Day at Flixton Golf Club on Tuesday 6th September.
Congratulations to all the players who have taken part this season and a special thanks to our successful team captain, Richard Kilby.

Second Team Success
Second team beat Antrobus 7 and a half to a half in the final of North Cheshire League at Davyhulme Park and were presented with the  NCL Claret Jug by the league secretary.
Congratulations to all players and our successful team captain, Steve Chamberlain.  This is our first ever win in this competition.

On Sunday 25th July, as part of our centenary celebrations we opened our doors to give none members an insite to our club and the chance to try their hand at golf.

Over 100 budding golfers turned up for what was a fantastic day in terms of PR for the club. Everyone who attended was in ore of the clubhouse and course, many local people knew we were here but had never had the chance to view the course or visit the club described us as an oasis.

On the day visitors tried their hand at chipping and putting, were given free golf lessons from resident Professional Dean Butler and treated to a display of golf shots from visiting professional Roy Johnson.

Golf Monthly Day at Hillside Golf Club on Thursday 23rd June. 

To celebrate their 100th anniversary Golf Monthly Magazine invited 20 golf clubs, also celebrating their centenary in 2011, to play in a shotgun start competition at the prestigious Hillside Golf club.

Representing Davyhulme Park was Captain, Dave Smith, Keith Judkins and Paul Barton.

A great day was had in the sunshine at the famous links course which last week hosted the 2011 Amateur Championship and is also celebrating it’s Centenary.

This weekend 10th & 11th of July is Captains Prize weekend a 2 day medal competition for all our male members.

Members play on the Saturday at tee times to suite but on the Sunday players go out in score order from Saturdays play. With the best scores going out last.

Our Junior members are also playing in Captains Prize, teeing off after the men at 4.00pm.

The weather is looking good, the course is fantastic despite the lack of rain.

All we need is some good golf and a good knees up on Saturday night in the 19th. I believe Mr Captain has organised, a magician, a quiz and a disco. Not too good for those out first on Sunday.
